Our Modern Times

A bad case of no discernment -

Woman escorted off bus for reading Bible out loud to children.

Curious if the bus driver would have escorted some Muslim young men off the bus for reading the Qu'ran out loud, or doing their prayers?

Just wondering...

Fred,

Where are the people marching in the streets and burning people in effigy? Oh, wait, this was a woman reading the Bible so it is ok. I see. The new PC is to be tolerant of everyone but people who read the Bible.

You see it pop up in the political race as well. It is ok to pick on Huckabee for being a baptist preacher, but Romney's Mormonism is 'off limits'.

I guess we shouldn't be surprised though.

raulemir,

It's highly doubtful that Fred is trying to bait you or anyone else with this post. It's hardly another Muslim attack either.

It's another simple observation about how Christians in a "Christian" society are so quickly and readily targeted and suppressed for public expressions of their faith. And it is true that the political climate in America is such that Muslims would not likely be removed from a public bus (or anywhere else) for similar public expressions of their faith.

And that is because a bus driver would be chicken to even try it. How many 7 Day Adventist mothers cut the heads of someone saying anything negative about their religion?

Hoo boy, Steve. Now you try bait Muslim. I no bite from you either. Mr. Fred slap my wrist one time too many.

I sit on bus and stay quiet, OK? I no as crazy as you may think. Mr. Fred complain if Muslim cut off head on bus, but he no mind deleting innocent Muslim comment on his blog.

Big double standard. I stay out.

raulemir,
I'm not baiting you. I would not make any assumptions about what a Muslim on a bus would do if asked to get off because he was praying or reading the Qu'ran out loud. I'm simply stating that Christians in the U.S. are often unfairly singled out and suppressed from their religious expressions, whereas there is a hesitancy to do the same to Muslims here.

That's all I'm saying. Period. It has nothing to do with baiting anyone.
